New Hours at Downtown Club!

You asked for it, you got it. Our Downtown club has changed its hours, effective September 8 we will remain open until 10:00 PM on Monday - Thursday.

New Equipment Comes to the Barn

Coming soon to the Sports Barn - TRX suspension training! Get functionally fit for your sport or just for your life with the new TRX Suspension Training system. Completely engage your core during every exercise. Your body is the machine for over 300 TRX exercises which your personal trainer can program to keep your fitness program moving in fast gear. Because the TRX uses total muscle recruitment to stabilize during exercise, the conditioning effect is vastly increased over traditional exercises. TRX is the ultimate in core stability! See your personal trainer for details. “Make your body your machine!”

Although North has been using the Gliding Discs for quite some time now, the Downtown and East locations now join North by incorporating these Frisbee-looking discs into group fitness classes and personal training. Don’t let the simple look fool you – they are quite the challenge – with a bit of fun thrown in!

All of our club locations have also recently purchased foam rollers for personal training and limited group fitness classes. Yes, these are the same rollers you will find in physical rehab facilities that are showing up in fitness facilities more frequently. Much like the dome-shaped Bosu – foam rollers challenge stability, balance, core strengthening and of course are great for stretching and massaging tight, sore muscles. Ask a trainer or group fitness instructor to give you a mini-lesson before hopping on – rollers are deceptively challenging!

SportsBarn Yoga

Yoga has so many benefits in that it increases your strength yet allows you greater flexibility. Its attention to breath is beneficial for reducing stress and creating a greater sense of ease. It is appropriate for all people from athletes to older adults. With our variety of classes and the expertise of our instructors we are confident we can find a class to fit your needs.

Please help us welcome five new teachers to our staff: Victoria Butler, Dorothy Hill , Karen Buntin, Holly Sisson and Barbara Jackson

If yes, these 1 hour classes are for you. During these classes you will learn how to utilize the equipment, learn the benefits of each class, and dispel some of the myths regarding the classes.
